Your 2025 Jeep Wrangler Buyer’s Guide
December 20 2024 - support@wikimotive.com
We’ve been enamored with the 2025 Jeep Wrangler, and we believe it should be the next vehicle in your driveway. We say this for many reasons, but it’d be unfair to this incredible off-roading performer to sum it up in one word. Instead, we’ve put together a buyer’s guide for the 2025 Jeep Wrangler so that you can read all about the incredible features and performance on tap this year before you visit us here at Parks Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Gastonia, your Jeep dealer near Shelby. Let’s take a closer look at this year’s Wrangler!
A Variety of Engines to Choose From
The 2025 Jeep Wrangler is available with a choice between three powertrains. The base powertrain for the 2025 Wrangler is a 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine equipped with a six-speed manual transmission or eigh-speed automatic. The manual transmission is ideal for off-roaders who enjoy a traditional gear-shifting experience while off-roading. With the 3.6L V6 engine under the hood, the 2025 Wrangler is capable of producing 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. The V6 powertrain has a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 lbs, meaning you can install a Class III Tow Hitch. If you purchase the Wrangler Sahara, the standard V6 engine is replaced by a turbocharged 2.0L I-4 engine. Four-wheel drive remains standard for excellent handling between powertrains, and the turbocharged engine maintains the V6 powertrain’s towing capacity of 5,000 lbs. Fuel efficiency is improved between engines. Considering four-wheel drive is the 2025 Wrangler’s only drivetrain, the Wrangler provides an excellent and impressive value not commonly seen with vehicles operating under four-wheel drive. Considering that you won’t find yourself at the gas station every day during the common work week in Shelby, and you can trust that you’ll have plenty of fuel for your favorite off-roading trails if you fill the tank, the 2025 Wrangler strikes a superb balance between performance and efficiency. With EPA-estimated ratings of 17 MPG in the city, 23 MPG on the highway, and 19 MPG combined, the V6 engine does a decent job at keeping fuel consumption low, especially on the highway, where the turbocharged I-4 engine matches its 23 MPG, alongside an improved 20 MPG in the city and 21 MPG combined. However, the 2025 Wrangler 4xe is available—a PHEV (Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle) that pairs the turbocharged 2.0L I-4 engine with a 17.3 kWh battery you can charge by plugging into a compatible power source. Despite not rolling with a traditional non-electric powertrain, the Wrangler 4xe has the best performance of any 2025 Wrangler model, excluding the off-road-focused Rubican trim, with its powertrain outputting 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque.
Seating Features
The seats in your 2025 Wrangler change depending on the trim you purchase. The base model has fairly standard manually adjustable controls for the driver and front-row passenger, but they aren’t heated seats nor wrapped in McKinley leather. Stepping up to the Sport S gives you the option to swap the chairs in the front row out for heated seats, though they remain manually adjustable. Once you step up to the Sahara, the McKinley-trimmed seats become available. The McKinley-trimmed seats guarantee your seats are upgraded in various other ways. For example, opting for it means you’re getting an eight-way power-adjustable driver and front-row passenger chair, both with four-way power-lumbar support and to complete the look, the park-brake handle and shift knob have a leather-wrapped option too. Driving around Shelby will be more comfortable once you’re behind the wheel of a new Wrangler. Each Trim Offers a Unique Set of Wheels and Tires
Wheel size is something that can vary greatly between Wrangler models. The base 2025 Wrangler has 17-inch wheels wrapped in 17-inch all-season tires. Stepping up to the Sport S retains the 17-inch wheel size but painted aluminum instead of black-steel. The Sport S also has identically sized tires, but there are all-terrain tires available instead of all-season. Upgrading yourself to the Willys trim offers you the similar 17-inch wheel wrapped in mud-terrain tires. The Sahara upgrades the all-season tire size to 18 inches, with an upgrade to 18-inch gray-painted wheels or optional aluminum color—all-terrain tires are also available for the Sahra. For any off-road-centric vehicle, tires and wheels are intensely vital to the overall experience, and you should double-check with experienced off-roaders and those with Jeep knowledge, like our team, if you are unsure what type of tires you should be looking for.Stay Connected Throughout Your Travels
Tech is mostly similar across the range of 2025 Wrangler trims. Every 2025 Wrangler is equipped with a 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment center. However, on the Sahara and Rubicon, and standard on the Rubicon X, is the same infotainment center, but with on-board navigation. The navigation built into the upgraded infotainment center is separate from any third-party software you may bring along for the ride through your favorite apps, so long as they’re on the dedicated app stores built into either Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, which the 2025 Rubicon is equipped with both. Every 2025 Wrangler also has a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. Although 5G isn’t offered yet with the Wrangler, 4G connectivity is still heavily utilized and highly sufficient in Shelby, especially if a passenger is streaming video or playing an online game on their handheld game console. HD Radio is available on the Sahara and Rubicon but standard on the Rubicon X—same with integrated voice command. These trims also offer an available Alpine premium audio system that uses nine speakers and pushes its soundscape through a dozen high-quality channels, with a dedicated bass channel releasing a thumping bass sound from the integrated subwoofer in the back of the cabin. This speaker system is standard on the Rubicon X.
